I'm trying to enlarge some 6x6 negatives using an 80mm Componon-S on an Omega D-II.

Problem is, I can't get it to focus! I retract the lens as much as possible towards the negative and I just can't get it into focus. There is that cone below the enlarger bellows that seems to be getting in the way -- is there some way to remove or replace it?

The cones come in different sizes for various focal length lenses. Though an 80 may need a flat board. There should be two thumbscrews below the bellows which lock the cone or the lensboard in place. Loosen them then turn the cone 90 degrees and it will drop straight out

Here is some detail from Harry Taylor's omega enlarger site (http://www.classic-enlargers.com/)

On the D-II and D-2. lens cones are only used on lenses used to enlarge 4x5 negs. That is 135mm and 150mm.

All lenses shorter than 135mm go on a flat lens board. This includes
