I'm Víctor, from London. I'm historian of technology and love to shot with old cameras to try to experience photography as in the past. I have some pre and post war Ikontas which I use as often as I can. I also have other cameras, including a stand travel plate camera from c. 1910.

I run my own web page and blog here: www.theobsoletecamera.com

I found a fantastic atmosphere in this forum and will visit it regularly.

Best.

Hello Victor -- Welcome!!

Welcome. Looking forward to your participation... the more, the merrier!

I like the prints you are selling. Very nice. Which of your obsolete gear did you use to make and process them?

Welcome to APUG Photrio!!

Glad to have you aboard!
I marveled at the condition of your Brownie Box camera. I have one, from whom I don't know. Mine looks like a mile of bad road, sad to say. The wooden tripod supporting your "stand camera" looks like one I inherited from, I think, my Grandfather.

Thank you for the compliment. I use to shot with my prewar Super Ikontas with uncoated Tessar lenses and until the coronavirus outbreak I used to print in the Photofusion darkroom in London and in my father's darkroom in Spain. Now I am considering to print at home.
Glad to have you aboard!

Thank you for your message. The box camera is a gift from my PhD director who got it from her grandfather. She told me he was a faultless man and the camera is in mint condition, I only needed to clean some dust from the shutter and the viewfinder mirrors. I still need to put a film on it to know how it performs.
