My name is Keith Yohai and I shoot B@W film with canon AE1 Programs and a speed graflex. I have been trolling for a while and now I'm a member. I'll be around..... Ohw, I'm new to the game, I've only been shooting for about 6 years, but I am dedicated, not at all into digital and print for up to 10-12 hours in the darkroom at Santa Fe Community College. I've been experimenting with lots of old paper (mostly fixed contrast) that I get off of eBay lately and also some varycon emaks which I bought off of B&H but arrived through freestyle strangely enough. I will be working next semester strictly with the neg and how to manipulate it with pushing and pulling, sodium sulfite, various developers, developer temperature etc. and maybe beginning to learn the zone system. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Hi, Keith, and welcome from Melbourne, Australia. It sounds like you are already getting your toes wet, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of inspiration here on APUG.

I would also like to mention, that I have recently spent a lot of time in the darkroom lately and at the same time and doing much more working out. As a result of one or both or neither I am having a problem that has persisted for over a week now. My left eye has a persistent white....? spot... that catches my attention and then disappears. It is as if a small white bug crawls across my lower (it's always in the lower part) eye and then is gone. Does this sound like anything you can comment on?

I am a doctor, but not a medical one, so I can comment on it but my opinion will probably be medically inaccurate.

We had a doctor of polymer science at work a few years ago. We used to comment that he wasn't the useful type of doctor!

Welcome Keith.

Steve.

Aw man. I saw you were new and used an AE-1P. I thought I'd have someone on my level, but your six years vs my 1 month just don't look the same. Welcome anyway. You'll ;earn a lot here.

Hi Keith, welcome to APUG, from SE WI. You may have a floater, best to see a Ophthalmologists. Probaly nothing to worry about, best to find out.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the warm reception. @ Fireguy2002, I'm not that good, so we can bounce ideas and info off each other anyway.
@Fotch, some people have thrown this "floater" word around since I've been mentioning what is going on for me but, nobody seems to know what it actually is, do you?

Welcome from near Washington, DC.

Yeah, sort of. Have had them for 30+years. When they first started to appear, the doctor said they were something like, well, better yet, the Mayo Clinic explains it better. Also, All About Vision .

Hope this helps. The thing to keep in mine, your eyes are worth a professional check up and opinion because you won't know until someone who knows what they are doing looks into your eyes.

Good Luck.

Hello and welcome to APUG! :D

Hi and welcome from Stanwood, Washington. I am also new to this Photo thing. I started in 1984 and I am always learning something new.
