Jim here. Been in photography since the 60s when I had my own darkroom at home (very make-shift). Photography has always been a passion. Now in my 70th year having probably more fun than ever, after having returned to film. Love my two Fujifilm digitals (X-E1 and X100S), but have been having such fun (maybe even more fun) with my Nikon FE and my Mamiya 645 1000S. Retired military and civil aviation pilot with about 38 years in aviation. Hello to all.

Thanks Chip. Nice to meet you. Yup, I cannot believe how film has re-captured me. I fall asleep at night thinking photography, and smiling. Got a few Bucket List items that need work though. Before I croak I want to have the chance to shoot with a Rolleiflex. That has been a dream for a long time. Doing some thinking about that one. Possible something like a Rolleiflex MX-EVS would make my heart beat just a bit faster.

And with Roman numerals no less. Well good on us. Thanks for the hello.

May I add another 'warm welcome' from another 'flatlander' (at LXXVI) a bit further west.

Ken

From Winterpeg, Man-it's-cold-out, eh? I'm originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, so I feel your pain... well, almost. Welcome to Apug, Jim!

Thanks Matt. Miss B.C. In my last years of flying I used to fly a week a month out of YVR. Made my home away from home at the Airport Marriott. What memories and fun the left coast gave me.

Thank you for the Dutch welcome. I feel a real kinship with the Netherlands. In the 70s when I was an Air Force flying instructor, I trained many pilot candidates from the RNAF, and at their graduarions I toasted Queen Juliana countless times. The old days...

Welcome Jim, from another Canadian on the Prairie. Nice to have you here. Stay warm!
Thank you. It is a pleasure to be part of your group. Minus 8 currently in Winnipeg. That's about 15 degrees too warm for me.

Hello Andrew. Thank you for the welcome. Actually I love the prairie winters. It's warming up here and soon will be very messy. I'd far sooner -20. But on that I seem to be in the minority.

Thanks Ken. Nice to meet you. And well done on the LXXVI. I would not chose to be anywhere else on the temporal line than where I am now.

I love the Prairies, period. I do a lot of photography there. Can't beat that big blue sky!

Hi Jim, from Montréal. Glad you joined the group
Bonjour et merci. Just after finishing university I needed a change of venue. Moved to Montréal and took a job pumping gas on Décarie BLVD just north of Ruby Foo. Lived in a rooming house on Rue Souvenir near the Atwater Terminus/Forum and delighted in Montreal smoked meat samdwiched at the Forum Deli. Long ago.. with many memories of Montreal, including Expo 67. I still have a few wonderful images from that event that I recently digitized - taken with my Pentax Spotmatic in 1967.

Welcome, Jim, from over in balmy Ottawa. Hope you enjoy your time at APUG.
Hi Julie. Another of my fav cities. For a long time in my work, my other home was the Novatel, and then the Residence Inn. Wonderful city. Incredible mix of ambience. Thank you for the welcome. You have Winterlude coming up soon, don't you? I hope the weather cooperates.

I'm not sure how it's looking for Winterlude but we have a few weeks to go before opening. The canal is kind of central to the experience and it got a late opening and might close again later this week as a result of the warm weather. We'll see!
