Hello from Vancouver!

I have been a member for some time...but lost touch.

I feel like I am the last of a dying breed out there in the world of portrait/weddings...so decided to touch base and hopefully find some support. This season in particular digital seems to be dominating. Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi Sherri - Welcome from the Vancouver (area) too.

I like your work. I'm not doing much in the way of weddings now, but I've done my time (and generally thoroughly enjoyed it) over the last 30 years.

Film makes such a difference, although I expect it has as much to do with the attitude and expectations that film reinforces and requires, as it does the choice of medium.

APUG is a great place. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself here.

Hi Sherri from Victoria.
If you are lamenting about film...I photographed a wedding in December all with film and a Nikon F90X & an FM3A. Then later that evening made images after a piano concert with the F90X.
Film is a wonderful format to work in although I understand the appeal and importance of digital.

Hi Sherri from the hated centre of the universe (Toronto). I know two wedding photographers as friends who shoot 100% digital, they have their rationale for going down that path, you have yours for wanting to stay with film.

I am doing my best to convert one back partially to film even if its just for fun. Wish me luck on that endevour.
