Who am I?

I am a 47-year old computer systems analyst (a fancy title that
basically means I design computer business software) who caught the
photography 'bug' four years ago and never shook it off.

I enjoy shooting 35-mm black-and-white film - Kodak Tri-X 400 and Fuji Neopan Acros are my favourites - with my always reliable and rugged Nikon F4 35-mm SLR. I've also got an interest in trying medium format photography at some point.

My favourite photographic subjects? Old cars (especially from the 1920s thru the 1940s), old buildings (the older the better) and architecture.

My favourite photographers? The incomparable Ansel Adams, the late, great architecture photographer Ezra Stoller and the great photographers from the renowned Chicago-based architectural photography firm, Heidrich Blessing.

I've also taken several courses on darkroom B&W film development and printing and I'm hooked on it! While I don't have my own darkroom (yet), I do have access to one through my membership in a camera club and I'm taking advantage of it.

Why did I join APUG? to learn, share ideas and work very hard to become a good photographer.

Welcome from another resident of Hogtown.

Welcome Tom from Hawaii. You have found the right place, there is a lot you can learn here, and share here. Also, I'm looking forward to being in Toronto in May for a short stay.

Welcome to apug.

Now sign-up for the conference

Welcome to APUG from that funny little island just outside Europe!

Andy.

You'd like to think so. But try as you might to put more distance between you and the continent, the UK is still most decidedly a European entity.

Hell you English are almost French.

I meant the Scot's. Did I say English?

Greetings from another GTA member and hope to meet you at the conference!

Greetings from a former Toronto resident, currently in Rochester where film is ... uh ... endangered. At least I can still smell stop bath in the morning when the wind comes from across the river.

Welcome Tom just down the road from Forest City. Enjoy your stay. This forum is a great place to be and learn.

G'day from Canada's western continental edge...Welcome Aboard APUG!

Welcome on board Tom. Hope to see you on line as well as in the darkroom.

Welcome in, Tom. Seems like a good time to be a photographer in Toronto, what with all the APUG activity planned there. Go meet folks. The APUGGers I've met face to face were even nicer in person that I thought possible.
