hiya,

my name is james luckett.

i currently live in tokyo, but grew up all around washington state - mostly near seattle. then spent a few years in arizona. and then some time in chicago.

been working in photography for 18 years, starting in high school with a vocational photography degree. then many many years in colleges studying art (i'm a master!) and then teaching art in colleges and then several more years working as a custom printer in a commercial lab that specialized in very particular sorts of pictures (which you are welcome to read about on my website: http://consumptive.org/adjustments/adjust.contents.html ).

photography is hardly new to me, and yet my abilities are almost entirely intuitive. i can print like the devil, but if i hit a problem i don't always have the knowledge to *think* myself out of it.

so i am here to learn. particular interests these days are large format, contact printing (azo), alternative processes (p.o.p.) and digital negatives.

cheers,

- james

oh, and p.s. -- everyone here is sooooo nice.

Welcome to the site James. Sounds like some grim photos to have to print.
But looking forward to you posting your real work.

Welcome, James

Hello James and welcome to this oasis

Welcome! I had already read and enjoyed your epic tale of work in the dark as your site was linked from www.nyclondon.com You'll enjoy yourself here...we're not A-1...we're just aces!

Hi James, I'd like to say welcome too. There's lots of the more enjoyable aspects of photography that you get involved in here at APUG. Most especially for your current, particular interests. best, John.

Hey stranger -- sorry I missed you, I was just in Tokyo a week or two ago! Visited "Hit-On" rental labs too

Welcome,

Welcome, James, look forward to your contribution.

Bjorke, is that some sort of "singles" darkroom?
