Hi everyone! I am new to this site but not to photography.
I got interested in photography as a senior in high school when I had my senior picture taken for the yearbook by a professional phographer. He took me under his wing and taught me a lot.
I am specializing in black and white landscape photography. I only shoot black and white. I am a student of the late Adsel Adams, through the books that he published.
Bob Ross of RH Designs gave me the link to this site. I have to say that I love this site, and I am leaning a lot from all of you.
My future plans are to sell my photography at art shows, and on a web site yet to be built.
I would like to know more about the magazine that is being offered, comments are more than welcome.
I am honored to be a part of this community of traditional practitioners of photography.

Sincerely, ilfordrapid

John,

I don't own a scanner yet, and I need to make new prints of all my work. It will be a while as I am upgrading my darkroom. Copywrites need to be obtained as well before displaying in public.
Thank you for your interest...

Sincerely, ilfordrapid

Hey Ilfordrapid,

Welcome to the crowd. I hope you'll get together with us on one of our NE regional things. Papagene is always getting folks together to photograph his own private wilderness (the Quabbin) and I hope to have a lot of us together at a show in the Boston area next September. Watch the regional posts. And get Jnanian out of the house, will you? He's becoming a piece of furniture.

Only kidding, John, honest. Been there, done that.

Welcome to Apug. A fun place for lots of great ideas, general tomfoolery and even a few good photos now and then

Go ahead and show your work (ed. note: this is not legal advice just my own understanding) your work is automatically copyrighted at its creation... you only need to register the work if you plan/need to defend it. Individual images do not need to be submitted, you can submit an entire body of work to be registered in whole which then protects each individual part. fwiw

Happy Shootin'

-Brad

Hello Ilfordrapid and welcome. I hope your darkroom upgrade goes smoothly.
Cheers

My understanding of copyright is that you can register it, but for most of us, we just assert it. If you mark that your image is copyrighted, and actually that happens automatically when you post an image on APUG, the image is considered under copyright. Apparently registering it makes it easier to take action if your copyright is violated, but is not necessary. There are some threads here on APUG as well as a wealth of information on the web.

Also, welcome! It is always nice to meet someone new here. I suspect you will find that this is a very friendly community and also extremely helpful.

Paul.

Hello from the least populated state in the lower 48. Lots of nice foks here and always lots to learn. Enjoy!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It is very nice to have other like minded people to share with and learn from.

Welcome to you ilfordrapid. Is there enough room in Rhode Island for a darkroom?

Welcome Ilfo... from northwest of you in Springfield, MA. Likw whitey says, it would be good to get a bunch of us NE-APUG'ers together - for any reason.

I just want to add my welcome and greetings to you too, Ilfordrapid in Rhode Island! As a relatively new member myself, I am looking forward to meeting you and other members from our region!

Blessings, Krystyna
