Hello from the Netherlands

Hey all,

I've been watching this forum and using it as a source for information for longer but decided to create a account and get a bit more involved. I hope to learn from others and help others where i can.
I am still quite young (16) and i've been shooting for about 1.5 years, and exclusively shooting analog for about a year. I am a big b&w darkroom enthusiast and have spent this summer building my own darkroom in the basement (it is unreasonably well equipped for a 16 year old hobbyist but building it was good fun too). I am also working in an analog photography store here every week, so i can definitely say i love my job.
All questions are welcome and i look forward to seeing you on here!

Welcome aboard! It's great to have a younger generation join us as well, although I'm happy to notice that the variation in terms of age is already considerable on Photrio. Either way, I'm sure you'll fit right in!

I worked in stores like that a lot in my youth, starting when I was just a couple of years older than you are right now.

That's super tidy and you're evidently a competent printer. At age 16! Who knows what you'll be up to 20 or 30 years from now and whether it'll have much to do with darkroom photography - but surely, you'll be going places!

Welcome to Photrio and we'll all be looking forward to your contributions in the future. BTW that is a kick ass first darkroom and did you have some help on the plumbing? I'm an old guy with over 60 years of experience and those prints are impressive for a photographer of any age let alone a 16 year old. Keep up the good work.

The plumbing here goes to the rest of the house and was in some sort of weird loop so we changed almost all of it with help from my dad and a contractor i worked for. My dad helped with learning me some stuff but most of it i did myself, including repainting the walls and floor and making all the furniture. The image below is the before, after i stripped all the paint with a small iron brush (I can't recommend).
