I have read a couple of times threads on this forum, probably already when it still was APUG, but never registered. Well Corona, not leaving the house that much, more time online, so I yesterday decided to register.
I am 28 years old, live in a rural area somewhere in the northern part of the Netherlands, close to the German border. Abouy 12 years ago I bought an Mamiya M645j. At a certain moment I could buy a CZJ Flektagon 50 f/4 for very little money. When an adapter ring didn't work at a certain moment (2011 I think) I decided to sell the Mamiya so I could buy a camera that fitted the Flektagon. I started thinking about a Pentagon Six, then the Kiev 88 CM and later the "new" Arax. In the end I didn't buy any of them.
In the meantime I bought a Yasica Minister D, but I sold it since I didn't like it. I sold it and bought a Practical LTL, but also that camera I didn't use that much.
My analog revival was end 2018. I had been looking for medium format cameras on the Dutch "eBay" for a while. Actually I didn't really want a M645 again, but when I bumped into a pretty good deal, I am again the owner of a M645.
I have a M645 1000s with 45mm 80mm and a 150 f/4, waist level finder, prism finder, Sekonic Light L408. The body and 45 and 80 were serviced last year, so I have a reliable workhorse for the coming years. Since October 2018 I shot around 45 rolls. Around 50% black and white (mostly HP5+) 30% colour (mostly Fuji pro 160NS and 400H) and 20% colour slide (mostly Provia, but I doubt if I will buy new one, I prefer Velvia 50)
In this analog revival I also started developing my own black and white film. That's also a thing that I really like to do. I just develop the film and then scan it with my Epson 4490. Not the best one around probably but I am really happy with the results.
During this last year and a half I also picked up/got some 35mm cameras: Fujica ST801, Pentax ME and the last addition is a Canon AV1. Also I still have the Praktica. They are nice to have, but not used frequently.
I still own that Flektagon and am interested in buying an Arax88. But yeah, a RB67 and C330 are also cameras that I would love to own. Anyhow, I promise, I will not sell any camera before I buy a new one.
