Hello friends,

Let me introduce myself: my name is Evgeny (which English equivalent is Eugene), I'm living in Moscow (Russia) and I'm the analog cameras user and also the cameras collector.
My most used cameras are my Exakta VX, Minolta XD-7, Canonet QL17 in 35mm and Kiev-88 in MF. But as a collector, I shot pictures with a lot of different cameras.
I'm using both b/w and color films. My favourite color film was Agfacolor 100 (but it has disappeared from our stores, so now I'm using Fuji Superia) and Foma and Forte in b/w, which I develop by myself using Rodinal and Fomadon LQN developers. Also I shoot landscapes on Velvia 50 film.
In the future I'm planning to build a darkroom, print b/w pictures by myself, build my own LF camera and try to shoot dags
I'm very happy to join APUG community and hope to find useful information, new ideas and new friends here

Best Regards, Evgeny.
P.S. You can meet me also on rangefinderforum.com.

Welcome, Evgeny!

I guess you've discovered that this is a very helpful community, although occasionally misinformed and opinionated. In short - we're humans!

I like people who write "my most used cameras" and then list four different ones. I myself have - I've got - - No, I've lost count. Anyway my most used one is a 5x7" Gandolfi Traditional, although that's been seeing a bit of competition lately from a 13x18cm wooden plate camera, made in Germany about a century ago. In 35mm it's a Bessa-L, with a 21mm Skopar lens. MF? About equally divided between a Bronica ETRS and about 10 different old folders...

Oh - and I've also used Slavich. Not film, but glass plates, in a 1934 Voigtländer Berheil 9x12cm plate camera

Nice to have you with us Evgeny!
You will find a lot of information here. There has been discussions in several threads on darkroom construction here. I am slowly putting a permanent one together myself.

Kind Regards,
John

Welcome Eugene/Evgeny! I reckon you're the second Russian to join this forum, or did I miss someone besides eumenius? I suggest you bring some friends as well. Personally, I'd welcome some counterweight to all the Ami's here! :D :D

(No offense meant, my Ami friends, it's not your fault you outnumber the other nationalities)

Isn't the concentration of Eugenes is too high here? Welcome to APUG, Eugene! (though I know you in person already  ).

Dobro Pozhalovatz v APUGe!

You will truly find much useful information here and a bunch of nice people who love photography, love to get their hands wet in the darkroom, and love to lug gear all over the place making photos the old-fashioned way. You will also find they are not afraid of technology, but have simply chosen more traditional methods because of their unique value and the qualities they bring to our art. We are not Luddites -- just smart consumers.

Again, Yevgeniy, welcome aboard!
