Hi I've been lurking here for the past few months and thought it was time I introduced myself. Les McLean introduced me to APUG some time ago and is with me at present and insists that I make myself known.

I've been a passionate photographer for 40+ years and make both black and white and colour Ilfochromes (although this is likely to come to an end with the recent news from Ilford) and look forward to getting involved here.

Welcome, Colin, from the other side of the herring ditch.

Welcome Colin,
You already know how wonderful this site is and it's good to hear Les has pushed you out of the darkroom for a while
Kind regards Tony

Good for Les ! Welcome Colin.

I'll be the first Yank to say hello. Hi from the land of fruits and nuts. (Citrus and almonds now what were you really thinking?)

Hi Colin - good to have you here

You know, I've never thought of Norfolk that way before, but now that you mention it!!!!
For anyone who wonders if i'm insulting the county of my birth then look at a map of Great Britain. It looks like an old man riding a pig, so Norfolk is the top half of the pigs backside. I'll leave it to your imagination what we think of Great Yarmouth .

Welcome Colin!

I hope you enjoy your stay! Kick off your shoes, put up your feet (not on the keyboard) and make yourself at home!

Welcome Colin,

I know you have a pretty full calendar (Quest), but perhaps Les will persuade you to join the UK APUG meet?

Welcome, I would love to see some of your work. I don't know much about the UK, but from my travels there (London, Cambridge) and a number of UK photo magazines, I see it as a beautiful country. I have a friend that lives in East Sussex, but, I've never visted him.

Welcome. Your reasons for spending so long on the cumputer will start to wear thin...

Great to see ever increasing support in the UK!!!

As an aside, at a recent exhibition (I exhibited in the same room as a digital photographer), the support for traditional for traditional monochrome was incredible. Many made a point of commenting that they wish there was more being exhibited. Those who insisted on discussing whether digital would finish off traditional in the end tended to work in the computer industry!!!!! For them there could only be one winer (peaceful co-existence obviously impossible). Those who loved the digital and had no interest in traditional (I also exhibited colour) were I think really wanting to see Athena posters of puppies, dolphins and sunsets superimposed on howling wolves, cough, spit.

There has never been a better time to be in traditional monochrome as like any craft skill, it cannot be learned overnight. We will be the ones with the knowledge, the POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
