Hello everyone!

I'm a long-time photography enthusiast from Poland - since 1977, and I’ve finally decided to join the Photrio community.

My main passion is restoring vintage photographic mechanisms. It started years ago when I couldn't find a proper service for my own lenses, so I decided to learn how to do it myself. Today, I specialize in comprehensive restoration and mechanical service (CLA) of vintage optics. I really enjoy bringing "barn finds" back to life, disassembling them down to the last screw to ensure everything works as it should.

Besides repairs, I also design and manufacture custom technical solutions like adapters and mounts using CAD to adapt vintage glass to modern or large format systems.

Looking forward to sharing knowledge and learning from all of you!

Best regards,
Andrzej

This Canon 17-85mm—from the ancient days when, for cost reasons, I still dabbled in digital—took a nasty tumble, and as you can see, the main inner barrel cracked. Most repair shops would call it "uneconomical to repair." I decided to take on the challenge—completely disassemble the lens, find the right structural adhesive for this particular polymer, and reassemble it. Sometimes a little chemistry and patience is better than buying new parts! 😉

Welcome. Do not repair shutters if you tend to sneeze, esp now is pollen season😁

Hi Bernard! Thanks for the warm welcome and the solid advice.
I’m not one of those modern folks who are allergic to everything, but just to be safe, I’ve already secured an army surplus gas mask! 😂 Better safe than sorry when dealing with these delicate shutters. Cheers!
By the way, what's the pollen situation like in your area right now?

Greetings Old Dick! Thank you for the kind words. As someone who enjoys the technical and engineering side of photography (CAD, 3D printing, and mechanical restoration), it's an honor to be part of this group. Looking forward to learning from you all!
