Greetings!

I was relatively new to digital photography (Canon and now Fuji shooter) when I caught the film bug. Started with a Canon AE-1 Program, but my condition deteriorated rapidly and I was forced to buy a Yashica Mat followed soon after by a Pentax 6x7.

I develop my own film, though I am clueless as to what is going on at the chemistry level.

There’s a world of knowledge here; it’s exciting and daunting. I hope I can keep up.

From the Clan McGlass, no doubt. There were always rumors...

Thanks!

From here in Fairfax, welcome to Photrio!

I actually met the current Lord Fairfax last year in Alexandria. He acknowledges he isn’t likely to get back much of his family’s stuff.

Howdy from Texas!

Hello from Orange, VA.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome from Central Illinois!

Welcome from downtown DC! If you want to get some hands-on learning, I teach over at Glen Echo Photoworks, which is a great place to do all kinds of photo education. We even have a 15-enlarger group darkroom which has open darkroom on Sundays from 1-7pm.

I had heard of such a thing but could never suss out an actual name. Great to know. I’ll look it up. Thanks!

Depending on where in NoVa you're coming from, we're very easy to get to- just cross the American Legion bridge over the beltway, take the first exit south (the Clara Barton Parkway) and get off at the exit marked for Glen Echo Park/Clara Barton House.

While I worked in Northern Virginia I used the darkroom at Glen Echo. Take up The FlyingCamera's invitation.

As long as a fuel tanker hasn’t turned over on it’s side! Hopefully that won’t happen again!

I’ll get out there one day. Only ever been to the Lake County area, and just for a few days. Lovely area.
You think Lake County's nice, I think it's too overpopulated. If I could, I'd live in Southern Illinois, but my job and family are in Central Illinois, so I am too.
