First got into photography in the mid 70's while in high school. Went onto college persuing a degree in photo journalism.
But then life happened and I came to a fork in the road that veered me off course. Had my Nikormat SLR stolen out of my truck. Didn't have the funds for a new camera.
Took a part time job to help pay for college (rather than take out a college loan) at a cabinet shop.
Had a little experience in cabinet making and that turned into a career in Kitchen design and Cabinetmaker.
Married, kids, life, business, so many things to do, no time for photography.
Last year, did a kitchen remodel for a couple, both were college professors. One of them taught a Digital Photography Class. I did have a digital SLR.
......and here's the big bonus (drum roll) since I was over 65 years old, and if I audited the college class, it was free! Well...I did have to pay $2.75 for a new student I.D.
Anyway, did the class. Had a ton of fun since I was a S.O.T.A (Student Older Than Average) It rekindled my love of photgraphy. Bought some new digital gear (GAS) and then started
going back to film. I still had my Rollei 35S, and my wifes Olympus OM-1 SLR , and have been cleaning up, repairing as necessary older vintage film cameras. I've run film thru a Kodak Brownie Target Six-20,
Kodak Duaflex II, Kodak Hawkeye, and next up, a Kodak Pony IV.
I've attached a photo of my dog , Murphee, taken with the Brownie Six-20
Looking forward to learning much and maybe helping when I can. Murphee .20.jpg

Very nice to have you here. Your story is a familiar one and you'll find many a kindred spirit here.

Welcome to the group. Many fine people at this site. Hope to get up to the Red Lakes some time.

My wife's family is from the "range". We go to Cloquet for 4-5 weeks at the end of summer.
