Hello fellow photographers! I joined back in 2010 but must have been having too much fun that day and just figured out today that I'm a member. I don't think I've even made one post.

Anyway, I've been playing with cameras since I was a kid in the 1960's. By high school in 1973 I started shooting for the school's yearbook. That was a blast - especially seeing my photos in the yearbook.

I never took the plunge to be a pro but I have secretly envied them for years and have loved photography since I was a kid with an Instamatic. Hero's of mine are Ansel Adams (of course), Imogen Cunningham, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, Steve McCurry, Ken Oosterbroek, James Nachtwey and Greg Marinovich.

I spend most of my shooting time in the wilderness while backpacking and/or fly fishing - primarily the Smoky Mountains. I still shoot 35mm (Nikon guy), 4x5 (Mamiya RB67) and got in to digital when it first became affordable - mid 1990's maybe.

I use to process all of my own film and prints but have taken a decades long hiatus from that. I am now retired and seriously thinking about setting up a darkroom again. I still have my enlarger from high school (Omega B22-XL), my tanks, filters, lenses, timers, etc.

Looking forward to learning more!

DrL
