Hi, I came across this forum not long ago and i just had to join. This seems like the best place for those of us who still use film.
My name is Roberto, I'm 19. I have been into art for most of my life. I've mostly been into painting, more specifically surrealism and sometimes I get in the mood to do photorealistic paintings. I've also been a graffiti artist for 6 years (all legal, mostly canvas and digital).
When it comes to photography I try to take a more purist approach and I use traditional media as much as i can within my budget, but I'm still open to using digital cameras for some purposes. I got into photography about 2 years ago after seeing what some people could do with inexpensive cameras. I bought a Lomography Colorsplash which helped me produce some nice pictures but I quickly felt I needed more control. It was then when I got a 35mm SLR (Canon Rebel 2000). Shortly after that I bought a DSLR (Canon 10D). Since then I have been shooting all of the time and photography has become an important aspect of my life. Nowadays I find myself taking pictures more often than painting (I should paint more
).
Currently I shoot with a Canon A2E, A2 (backup) and my 10D but I shoot more film than digital. I am very interested in medium and large format photography but due to my budget I want to put together a complete 35mm system before I move up.
Well, I think that's all for now,, here's my Flickr photostream, tell me what you think. http://www.flickr.com/photos/28041702@N04/ I'll upload more when i have time to develop and scan. I have a lot of pictures laying around that I haven't uploaded.
Greetings!
Rob
