Hi Everyone,

Greetings from LA! Having been a lurker here for some time, I finally stopped putting off subscribing and am now a part of this great community.

While I have nothing against digital photography as I'm sure most of you do not as well, I just prefer b&w film. Everything from the moment I click the shutter to the moment I pull a print out of the wash is a real joy for me. I started down the do-it-yourself path back in 2005 when a neighbor suggested taking a course at Pasadena City College. I was less then thrilled with the results I was getting from the labs with the C-41 film I was using. Shortly after my first course I picked up an RZ67 ProII with a number of lenses and a couple backs and hit the streets. Most of my photography can be described as social landscape I suppose, for lack of a better description. I try to attend as many rallies, protests, parades and festivals as I can along with plenty of street photography. While I continue to use my RZ for most of this, last summer I began to shoot some 35mm again with an F2 I purchased and had overhauled. I shoot a few rolls 120/135 combined every week.

Since I work a regular day job, this all just a pass time for me. While I have sold a handful of prints earlier this year (on a fluke more then anything else) and have also won a local contest back in Feb., I'm mainly in this for creative fulfillment. I have been uploading images over the course of this time, and while some editing is certainly in order, here are links if anyone is interested:

I also am pleased to devote some of my time and experience to charity. A classmate of mine turned me on to AidsWalk LA and this Oct. will be the third time I attend as a volunteer photographer. I often keep my eyes and ears open for other opportunities, but there never seems to be enough time for everything I'd like to do.

I'm excited to be here and am looking forward to learning new things and helping others out where I can.

Best Regards,

Marc Todd
