Can it actually be? A place I can come to where every other person is not trying to convert you to the "dark side"? :D I think I have found a new home. I actually found apug by way of a link from a member that is also a member on flickr. Guess I must get busy and put my profile together and see about making some new friends.

Welcome from Hawaii. No one will try to convert you here, except possibly to a larger format of film. :D

That is actually my long term goal. I want to graduate to at least a medium format camera. But then, that is also when I plan to quit my day job.

I can't believe anyone here would try and convert anyone to a larger format....

Welcome fellow denizen of the Commonwealth! This is one of the best film based spots on the net! No one will deliberately try to get you into a larger format, but they will stir a profound sense of G.A.S. in your soul. They actually got me to go smaller (4x5 to 6x7), but this is just getting me primed for 8x10... Watch out for Travis, for first he will sing you a Mamiya song, and then....

Thank you fellow denizen. I have been in McCreary County before. Of course my family is in Pulaski County. I am just glad to be away from folks always trying to get me to go digital. All I can say is I am very big fan of Jack Dykinga and his work in landscapes.

Welcome to APUG the best PHOTOGRAPHY forum (of any kind) on the web. Just to warn you I started with a cheap s/h Canon, then came a cheap Russian MF, then the enlarger/darkroom kit, then the Bronica SQ. I keep telling my wife I'm putting e-bay on my content filter but it never lasts long !

"Hmm- Wonder if she'd notice if I bought that"

Digiconvert, the answer to that question is eventually, yes.

I had started on a similar progression many years ago in my early stages. It was mainly going from a Pentax K1000 to a ME then a MESuper, all three of which I had at the same time. I have done my own b&w developing, but never owned my own equipment. That is something I would like to change.
