A big hello!

I can't believe a forum exists that can happily ignore all that is digital! I've been into photography for years and mainly enjoy travel and architecture, I'm a big Velvia fan and love black and white. My main camera is Bronica SQ-A but I also use an X-Pan and a Nikon FM3A on a regular basis.

Anyway, that's a short bit about me so far, will post more soon. Hope to be a regular here now I've found the forum!

Greetings Ben!

Yes, isn't APUG great? We are lucky, indeed, to have it.

I enjoyed your web site.

Pat

Wow! Thank you all for your kind welcomes, and for responding quickly too!

Hi Ben - I'm in Chilham - small world

Greetings from Germany, I love the UK und Scotland ;-)
Some nice images on your website!

Hello Ben, welcome from Berkshire

I was in Canterbury in 2001. About time for another visit, I'd say. Welcome to APUG!

Cheers everyone, your welcomes are appreciated!

I think this will be a forum I can settle into happily. The topics seem much more relevant to my interests than many other photo forums. I asked a question on another quite busy and active forum recently about film developer, and only got one reply! So many forums have a lot of digital content it's refreshing to come across this one.

Thanks all again for the welcomes! :D

Cate - is that you? I recognise a couple of the pictures in your gallery from the RPS forum?

Hi Ben. Welcome.

Hello Ben,
You're lucky living in Kent - I'm slowing making my way along the Douth Down Way/Pilgrims Way. I take a d*****l point & shoot with me to scout out opportunities to return with a proper camera (5x4 or 10x8). Sadly, with time constraints I know I'm missing many opportunities, especially if the weather isn't 'right'. Do you get much chance to get out & about?

Thanks everyone!

I do get out and about a bit Mark - it's a personal project of mine to photograph as many places in Kent as possible. I've started a site, Images of Kent, but at the moment it needs quite a bit of work doing to it and several images need rescanning (were scanned when I first had a scanner and didn't have a clue what I was doing! :D ).

David - I'm an Ashfordian, small world! Certainly agree about Dungeness, one of my favourite places.

Ben, I enjoyed the images on your website. I've only been to Kent once, a friend took me to Dover Castle, then we went to Rye. Beautiful country. I'm hoping to visit the UK again next year.

Dear Ben,

Nice website! My criterion, increasingly, for judging others' pictures is "Would I be proud to have taken that?" Most of yours, I would.

I was surprised at how few pics there were of the Romney Marsh churches (one of my favourite subjects when I lived in Minnis Bay) but actually, I suppose there are very few of those on my web-site either (www.rogerandfrances.com).

Glad to see the AP link, too.

Cheers,

Roger

Thank you Robert and Roger for taking the time to look, and for your kind comments.

Roger - no not many Marsh churches between us! :D That's partly why I set up the Kent website, to help provide an end result for exploring my home county. Enjoying reading your blog by the way.
