Hi, I live in Geelong, Australia (South east coast), and have had a life time interest in photography.
My interests are mainly landscapes, and long exposure photography.

I started getting interested in B&W analog photography (medium format and 35mm) and darkroom last year as I see it as a way to do something different from every else is doing with their digital cameras. It also enabled me to focus on producing prints, rather than having thousands of digital files that I never look at.

I have set up a make shift darkroom and been buying equipment using this forum at times to understand what people are using and the quirks.

My cameras are a Mamiya 7 (medium format), and a Nikon F6 (35mm). I am looking into a Toyo field camera to try some 4x5.

Looking forward to learning from and contributing to this group.

Damien

Damien... Welcome from Commonwealth Games 2018 city of Gold Coast, Queensland! I wish you well as you pursue your Monochrome photographic interest. And, wholeheartedly agree with your view about producing prints rather than storing negatives! You'll find great support here too... Enjoy!

G'day Damien. I'm on the other side of Melbourne to you. Like you I went back to film cameras 12 months ago and am enjoying the hobby immensely. Many very helpful people on this site keeping me on the right track as "every day is for learning" especially in film photography. All the best.
Robin.

If you have the chance, check out the Post Card Exchange, Print Exchange etc - a great way to engage with other members and see how they view their part of the world and beyond!
