I have subscibed today and im very excited to have found this site. Im a begginer from Chicago Il and hope to learn from all the great photographers on this site. I have joined other sites and soon found myself unhappy with all the digital images that are posted and altered by computers in photoshop to look like drawings or cartoons " HDR IMAGES ". I have a strong passion for photography, Film Photography that is ! Im a begginer with a 35mm Canon camera and have alot to learn so please dont trash me to bad when i post a photo. Forget the last comment and trash me if you want because that will be the only way for me to learn. I Know how to develope 35mm black and white film but im still learning how to take a good photo. Hello again to everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone at APUG.

Hi - I'm quite new to APUG.I'm amazed how positive and friendly everyone is. I'm finding photographers in parts of the world I never thought I'd reach and the camaraderie is great. I don't think anyone would want to 'trash' your photos - in years to come you'll probably rediscover some of those early images, reprint them and think how great they are. Good luck.

Welcome from NYC in general, but from Chicago where I am at the moment for a conference. Before my event starts, I've been out shooting with my Tech V 4x5" and have gotten a number of positive and interested comments. I stopped in at Central Camera to pick up another box of Tri-X and was chatting with a couple of young folks at the film counter, and they were very pro-film, pro-LF. We were talking about some of the recent ULF special orders and one said that professionals are still shooting large format. I acknowledged that more are using digital backs, and one said, "yechhh...." Chicago is a film shooting town!

Hi there and welcome from Trowbridge England, I have been in the dark doing this black and white thing for more years than I can renember and I still love it, Now I really envy you, as a beginner you still have all the thrills and pleasures to come, I still get them and I am 75, my advice to you is just enjoy it; both the taking of the pictures and the making of the masterpieces.
