Hi, I’m Fabrio,

I am a photographer who in the past 2 years started taking film photography seriously. I have been using Sony equipment for the majority of my photography journey. Starting from a6000 -> a6400 -> to finally A7Riii. Two years ago however, I picked up film photography as a side hobby and fell in love ever since. I got a used canon A-1 for a very cheap price and been using it for my main photography tool. I have been curious about rangefinder film camera especially the legendary Leica Barnack and M series. I would love to know more about film rangefinders as I hope to make the switch from SLR soon.

Cheers,
Fabrio

Welcome, @fabrio27 !
At one point, I also became interested in rangefinders. Tried out a couple, only to find that I really prefer an SLR, so I stuck with that. See if you can borrow a Leica from a friend.

I see, if I may know, what makes you stuck with SLR in the end?

WYSIWYG!
I just find the viewfinder experience preferable. I know I'm recording exactly what I see with my own eyes. With a rangefinder, it was too indirect to my taste. It's a personal thing, and probably a personal limitation on my end.

I find composition of a scene much more intuitive with a rangefinder. I find an SLR most easily isolates a subject, especially as when you focus, the depth of field knocks the background into fuzziness. So I'm the opposite of Koraks and find rangefinders more natural.
Being accustomed to using a rangefinder makes using an autofocus camera incredibly annoying.
