Guess I missed this part when I started posting!
I am Mark Lyon AKA M.Walter Lyon. I have had a passion for photography for over twenty years. Just started getting back into it after honeymooning in Kuwai. What a place to shoot!
When I got out of High School I decided I wanted to be a photographer but knew little of what it took. My Dad bought me a Sears KS-2 (Richoh) and sent me to a 6 week workshop with the Great Master Photographer Jay Stock. I learned composition, rules of thirds, and still lighting. I moved to Virginia and became a portrait photographer with Jones and Presnell, Cpi, and a couple other department store studios. It all came to an end when I botched my first wedding, my sister's. I put down my camera and didn't pick it up again for 15 years.
It has been 4 years since I started shooting again and now I am serious about trying to make it a career. One small setback, my passion is Landscapes, and stills. Not very conducive to raking in the money. I have been attempting to learn more about portrait lighting and will be receiving my first medium format any day now. So soon you all can suffer through my experimentation phase in freelance portrait artistry
. Until then I will continue to post my landscapes and stills and take my lumps, cause that's why I am here to learn from the pros.
