' just would like to say hello to all of you - I was glad to have found this site - already helped me a great deal to not completely mess up the first rolls of film.
I always loved photography, but right now i spend a lot of time with it.
A brief history about me, myself and I and photography.
In the late 1990ies I visited a youth club - they had a darkroom and gave courses there, so I learned a bit there, but wasn't getting too deep into it. Almost forgot about it.
A few years ago (2011) I went digital, using photography as a research tool during a field-research. Actually, I was getting more interested in taking pictures (and sharing them) than writing about the subject I was into at that time.
Sometimes it seems to take sad events to bring back certain activities. 2012 I inherited three camera bodies and a bit of glass, but wasn't really able to deal with 'em.
Just for fun I took one of these cameras early this year, got myself some bw- film (HP5+, yay), and went shootin'.
At least, that move brought me back to photography at all, but somehow there was this idea, that I would love to have a more compact (and lighter) camera, so I bought another digital one.
Since I went to the lab, to get my two rolls of HP5+ and the prints, I never touched the digital camera again. I was blown away by the quality of the pictures - in a technical sense.
But since I payed for the development, and I knew that I would keep on with the analog way of things, I started to at least do the negatives myself.
Right now I'm working in a hybrid way, scanning' my negatives. I'm quite happy to get negatives at all, but things a getting better, sticking to one camera, one lens, and a hopefully more consistent way of process.
I use Pentax cameras - like explained above, they found a way to me. And I completely fell in love with the way they respond, the haptics.
