How about Ilford XP2 Super as a possible replacement?

Here's an (there was a url link here which no longer exists) on Ilford RC paper.

I just got an email from kickstarter asking for my address to ship the rewards! I cant wait!
I expect this means that they are sending out the postcards soon.

I received it too. They do not want a business or "user name" for the wall, but "Truzi" is a nickname I have used before getting on the internet. It is a shortened form of my surname.

In real life, everyone has known me as "Truzi" for at least two decades. I, and others, have come to consider it my real name (and at one time I actually considered a legal change/alias). It is so entrenched that most people who know me real life would not recognize my given name on Ferrania's wall, even the ones who know it. One of the weekly papers I used to work for even agreed to use it for my byline.

Perhaps this is a question for Film Ferrania:
How adamant is Film Ferriania about using a given name on the wall? Or, what if a nickname is used in lieu of a first name, with a proper surname to follow (i.e. "Ozzy" Osbourne, LOL)?

What I did for the Bill Schwab kickstarter is "real name (StoneNYC)" so perhaps that's acceptable.

I also go by Stone and many only know me as Stone... No other pre or post name. It's been that way for 15+ years.

Hi Dave,
very nice to read all the information you've provided… being a backer I plan to shoot those four rolls 120 film I'll get, probably a temptation I just cannot resist –even knowing that nothing exactly comparable will come along again. I am currently a 100% Kodak shooter (Tri-X 400; Portra 160 & 400) but looking at some really old Agfa 1000 RS and Agfa 200 RS 6x6 slides I did in the late 80ies is some compelling reason to get into it again.

Seeing this project evolve and being able to support it – even in a very little way – gives me a warm and positive feeling!

Regards and all the best,

Rolf

What about a C-41 B&W like the Kodak BW400CN? It's one of my favourite films, but unfortunately it's not produced anymore and they are running out of stock.

Use Ilford XP2 Super. It is super!

Nicknames are fine...

We're just trying to avoid the nearly inevitable "Seymour Butts" or other craziness.

If you would include a last name, that would be super swell. Because unlike Madonna, the entire world does not hear "Stone" and think - "oh, he's the guy from APUG that goes by StoneNYC."

We're just trying to keep it somewhat formal, and as consistent as we can. At the end of the day, if someone wants to be known as "Buttcrack" - publicly and for as long as there is an Internet - then who are we to say that's wrong?

Hmm... never thought of that... perhaps I should rethink merely using my nickname. :D

You sound like you're Siriusly tired of seeing the same stuff over and over again. Me, I'm looking forward to having some warm weather, and shooting some Ferrania reversal film in Mid-2015. How's that for not more of the same?

The warm weather is already here. People come from the MidWest for the Rose Bowl so that they can thaw out.

I'm puzzled that nobody has mentioned this yet: Will ferrania bring back Kodachrome 25? Because we need this film and nothing was worse in history of photography than losing that film. It gave us those nice bright colors, the greens of summer. It made us think the world was a sunny day. It made us think that a masochistic 14-step development process which involved critical reexposure to different colors and included waiting 1 month for getting your film back was somehow acceptable. Everything looks worse in black and white.
I'm puzzled that nobody has mentioned this yet. So will ferrania bring back Kodachrome 40? And how about Kodachrome 64? It gave us those nice bright colors, the greens of summer. It made us think the world was a sunny day. Or Kodachrome 200... Yes, it was grainy, but it had nice colors, the greens of summer. It made us think the world was a moderately-sunny day. So what are Ferrania's plans regarding Kodachrome?

I'm puzzled that nobody has mentioned this yet. So let's hope that Ferrania confirms that the factory is resurrecting Kodachrome 25 in 818, APS, Minox, subminiature-16mm, and 620 formats please. Along with 8x10" glass plates and their new Infrared version of Kodachrome.

You guys are a hoot!

Despite the recent burst of tongue-in-cheek posts, I am still watching and listening...

If I haven't mentioned it yet - THANK YOU for all the great questions, suggestions, tangents, good sense, and even the utter nonsense!

I'll be semi-officially checked out from Dec 21 until Jan 2 - but I'll probably lurk a bit if I get bored...

If you celebrate the season in any way - have a great one!

Not another God Damned Kodachrome post! Don't these guys ever take time to breathe and think?
He's being sarcastic! lol:laugh:

No I am both serious and sirius about not wanting to wasting Ferrania's time with an obsolete, costly to manufacture and difficult to process slide film the is inferior to Kodak Ektachrome and Fujichrome. There is no future for Kodachrome.

I agree with your opinion on you-know-which film. I'm also serious and tried to help the Anti-K14-Brigade (of which I am a proud member) by means of a tonge-in-cheek post.
