Just wanted to formally introduce myself. I've been reading the forums for a little while, and have been extremely impressed with the civility, the depth of knowledge and experience, and willingness to share that. I've been involved in photography for about 4 years, which started with me wanting to put into photographs the landscape and environment in Maine where I grew up. This led me to courses at the University of Maine, and then to Brooks in Santa Barbara, where I am now in my second year of the program. Landscape and nature photography is still a large (probably the largest) part of my personal work, which is nearly all in black and white, but I have branched about a bit recently working on figure studies and some still life as well. I shoot mostly 4x5, and a fair amount of 6x7, and recently I've started playing with my 35mm more as well. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone, and say how much I enjoy having these forums and you folks around, it's truly a great resource.
