Hi All,
Well I originally joined here in 2007 (I think), but things changed (my life!) and I forgot all about it.
Now things have changed again and I am back!
My name is Alan and I am from Cheshire England.
I love taking photos and just enjoy messing about with film.
I have many 35mm film cameras (mainly all Pentax as I collected Pentax cameras for a while). I also have some (says quietly) digital cameras.
Recently I was diagnosed with narrow angle Glaucoma. since I have had my eyes 'lasered' to releive the pressure, my eyesight has deteriorated a lot. At least it is stable now!
So, this has meant my photography has changed. Ironically, it has made me even more interested in photography.
for my day to day stuff, I use a Lumix GF1 and a small olympus compact.
But funnily enough, the Lumix has given me an interest back in film and the more 'artistic' side of things.
So I have pulled out of retirement some of the film cameras (K1000, MX,MG,...) and I have just bought an Agfa MF camera to play with. The aim is to get fully back into film photography for 'pleasure' and keep the digital for holidays and gatherings etc.
I always wanted to play around with bromoil and such processes, well now is the time to start.
I intend to start with doing the film end first, whilst scanning and printing , then when that is feeling comofrtable again, to start wet printing.
I look forwards to learning a lot of things and enjoying myself on the way.
Alan
