Did somebody bought, used, have any experience to share with this enlarger ?
I already have and use for years the Heiland LED head but on a Zone VI Type II enlarger, what I am looking for is experience with the enlarger.

Let me apologize if my english is not perfect.

Kienzel currently makes an 8x10 enlarger available with a Heiland LED head. I don't think Heiland makes enlargers other than the one-off monster 20x24 horizontal enlarger.

Heiland has been showing images of an 8x10 enlarger on Instagram recently. I assume it has just been or will soon be release.

I know it's an old thread but I wanted to add than after a long time waiting, almost a year, I received and use an Heiland 8x10" autofocus enlarger. On ferbruary it will be its first anniversary in my darkroom and I am very happy to work with.

Please tell us more!!

My current Durst L1840 is still running well, but, since it was built in 1988. It has been in my posession for 17 years now* and, if it breaks down that I can no longer fix it, I'm planning on getting a new one like you have done.

*seems like just yesterday I posted the thread:

Very nice! I bet it's great to use. Congrats. If they made a 4x5 I'd start dreaming about it (along with some Kienzle equipment...

There's no better time to buy a new enlarger, go ahead, you just need to cash in some of your bitcoin! 😊

Fortunately I could not figure out bitcoin, unlike some others...

What do you want me to tell you ?

Everything, really. If you don't mind sharing your experience.

For example,

It looks like a wall mount. Right there that is pretty unusual for 8x10.

How is that accomplished. Did it not come with a base?

How big can you print with that?

How does the head move up and down? How does if focus?

What kind of negative carrier does it have? Glass? Does it slide in from the front or side?

Does it use Durst style lensbaords?

Is the lens stage adjustable for alignment?

Wouahhh!! Ok I will try my best and first let me apologize, English is not my mother language.

It's made according to my specifications. My darkroom is quite small, no room for a standing version but you can get either one or the other.
How is that accomplished. Did it not come with a base?
It's fixed to the wall, base was already there and before that I had a Zone VI Type II 5x7" there, wall mounted too.
How big can you print with that?
at least 20x24" but I don't have easel or trays that size and I don't like too big prints. With a 8x10" negative if I print with a 240mm lens on 16x20" paper My head is about 50 or 60 cm from the top
How does the head move up and down? How does if focus?
Head and manual focus move with joysticks. It's autofocus or manual as you like or both. First you need to calibrate autofocus for each lens but it's very easy to do. You can store 20 calibrations.
What kind of negative carrier does it have? Glass? Does it slide in from the front or side?
Negative carrier has two glasses with one no newton rings on top.
Does it use Durst style lensbaords?
I don't know Durst style lens boards, it has heiland lensboards
Is the lens stage adjustable for alignment?
I don't know, it's already aligned.

I hope you will enjoy my answers.

I saw a note about that Heiland unit a while back and I was intrigued. In my search for more information, I also found this;

Yes, I believe that is the enlarger from post #7.
