Bogen 3051 Tripod & Majestic 1200 head

Great 8x10 starter tripod, rock solid and inexpensive, and especially good for flatbed cameras since the Majestic head has the 6"x7" platform. I bought it for my 8x10 Kodak 2D. It also worked very well with my girlfriends 5x7 B&J Commercial View. I bought a Ries tripod a while back so it's time to sell this one. The tripod and head are in good user condition and everything works as it should.

Specs with Majestic head.
Weight - 17 1/2 pounds
Max height (center column down) - 57"
Max height (center column up) - 67"
Min height - 24"
Length when folded - 45"

I also modified the mounting stud for the Majestic head so that it won't accidentally come unscrewed. The mod is the same as I did here except I used two set screws instead do three. http://www.largeformatphotography.in...8-Majestic-Mod

Just a quick note on availability for those who may be looking and don't know. About a year ago or so I contacted Bencher directly and was told the 6x7 mounting platform had been permanently discontinued. For big camera users that was the largest platform they offered. That potentially makes this an extra nice deal for any big dog users.

I have the same unit as this, a model 1201 (1200 post-mount head w/6x7 platform) mated to a Zone VI heavy-duty wooden tripod. Even though the Zone VI is not as nice as a Ries, it's probably as sturdy as the Bogen, and my 8x10 aluminum Calumet C1 Black Beast is rock solid on that combination. And they don't call it a beast for nothing.

If I didn't already have a similar solution, I'd be all over this.

GLWTS...

I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow AM, but if it's still available when I get back, or maybe if I find time to write from the hotel, I'm interested. Looks like a good fit for my Eastman 7x11, which is similar to a 2D but a little bigger and heavier.

Tripod is on hold for the gentleman with the 7x11. If it doesn't workout I'll let everyone know.

I met up with Ned and delivered the tripod, nice to meet a forum member face to face. Looks like the tripod is a great fit for his Eastman 7x11. What a gorgeous camera.

Thanks everyone.
