Heated paper, should I be concerned?

I order supplies from BH online. I just received a package of photographic paper and film. Normally UPS drops the package off in the late afternoon and sometimes it sits at my door for several hours before I get home. The temperature has been in the 90's lately, luckily today's package was delivered at lunch time and I happened to be home to get it immediately. However when I opened the package the boxed paper was hot to the touch. I am assuming the UPS trucks must be hot, I have no idea about their warehouses.

Is there any concern when ordering film and paper over the summer months? Coming from NY to AL the package is in transit for several days, could severe heat for multiple days cause fogging or any other artifacts.

I also order from NY, but I live in upstate NY (Adirondacks, not Peekskill) and I've wondered the same thing. Although I've had no problem with hot, humid weather or hot warehouses/trucks on paper or film, my stuff gets here in three days, perhaps a bit shorter time than your delivery.

It can. Especially for film, and most especially color. If it was B&W it's probably ok, but you may want to test a roll right away.
However, I bought some paper (Ilford MG) from a guy who had it stored in a semi trailer on his farm, for I don't know how long, and it was fine.

A few years back there was an interesting article in Photo Techniques where they tested color film by exposing it to relatively high temperatures for various lengths of time. For the specifics you can dig up the article, but essentially you really have to abuse photographic materials before there are issues.

Courier trucks, at least in more northern areas are typically NOT air conditioned, even if they were, the cab would be air conditioned, but the freight area would not be, otherwise it would cost a fortune in fuel. Drivers are in and out of trucks all the time, so A/C wouldn't help much, heck in winter the heat doesn't help much, but the heaters are more to keep the windows from fogging up. A trailer with the sun beating down on it can easily be 20℃/36℉ hotter then the outside temperature.
