Hello.
Any ideas about developing time of an apx400 (new emulsion) in hc110? Cant find any info on digitaltruth.
Thank you!
P.

Anchell & Troop, and Freestyle as well, say Dil. B for 6 min. @ 68 degrees F

Ed Buffaloe's time is 9 min @ 70F, Dil. B

And you're right, the MDC does not have a time for HC-110. Odd!

Do a test roll!!!

I will try it..it's strange, since the emulsion changed rodinal times almost doubled, but hc110 seems still the same (hoping freestyle chart is updated).
I will try 12 mins at dilution H...
Thanks a lot
P.

yes, but is for the OLD film  the emulsion changed in 2002.

I believe that you can estimate the dev time but dropping a leader in the developer, taking the time it takes to become gray (not black) and them multyplying by 5 for a starting point.....

just tried dilution H (1+64) for 12 min. at 20°C, agitation 5 secs every min and the negatives looks good

I believe this is known as ' The Watkins Factor ' , many years ago most printing papers had a published ' Factor ' so no matter what developer or dilution you were using you were able to ' Develop to completion ' . I was not aware it applied to films as well, but it seems logical .
Cheers BarrieB.
