haze filter: what does it do?

I ordered a B+W filter and I off keh.com. I wanted a protective filter so I decided to go with a B+W UV; however it says: UV-Haze 1x on the barrel. What does that mean? More specifically it reads: B+W 46 010 UV-Haze 1x MRC.
