eBay is a great place, but can be really difficult at times. In over 100 transactions buying and selling, I have only had a couple bad experiences. It is not unusual for certain sellers to use the same photos over and over again for similar items. This kind of ends up in a crapshoot when you finally get the item. I did business with an nsfw (globalmatter labs) for a Busch Pressman D once and got stung with an inferior camera completely different than the picture. He sells a lot of Graphics, Deardorff's, and high-end lenses that way. Impossible to deal with when there is a problem. He made the mistake of mass-mailing all of his previous customers at Christmas and it started a posting flurry amongst us that revealed over 30 bad deals that had never been publicly recorded against him for shill bidding and inferior product. Sometimes eBay follows up, sometimes they dont, and it sure is hard to get satisfaction at times.
Most experienced folks on eBay do not put a negative for a seller in when they have a problem because we know that the seller will retaliate with a negative.
