actually, what he paid will help -- as a general rule, things are worth what they cost, unless of course he found the proverbial Leica M4 Luxus for $5.

I once bought a pristine Leica IIIG, with a 50mm Summitar, for $150. I guess the guy who paid me $950 for it was a fool?

Sorry folks, I think our OP did just great, you do know there were only 25 Leica Mod O made in 1923....I thought the OP said s/he picked up "a few of em"....

Huh. I heard it was a $400 Argus brick recovered with lizardskin.

That Leica could use some sprucing up at that price. Maybe some nice faux unborn linoleum covering?
