These guys would flip their lids if they knew about Harman Direct Positive paper...

Might get me thinking about building something like this. Pretty cool.

Is that the end of the story? I never heard of a kamra-e-faoree before. However, I have been wondering if some sort of development box could be manufactured to sell to film users, something in-between a dark room on the one hand and a Polaroid camera on the other. Hundreds of thousands of young people are turning to film, but they want the full analogue experience - they want an actual photo in their hands to share with friends and collect. A darkroom is way too big a commitment for 95% of film users and processing labs have shut down; besides labs fail to give the film enthusiast a hands own experience with turning film into a print. Could something like this box be refined and marketed?

One does not need a darkroom but a room that can be darkened. For instance generations of amateurs just put a board on their bathtub, with enlarger and trays on top.

I have a headache.

Stop down your lens fella. Don't need a shallow DOF for everything.

Yes, I am in the process of acquiring equipment and setting up something like that now. It is less than a permanent darkroom, but a quite a bit more complicated than what I had in mind when I wrote my post.
