Just saw one at one of Albuquerque's Verizon stores.

I don't know the price, but it's easy to guess at least $2000.

im guessing the phone body is about $grand and
the backs cost about $900 each like the 120 backs used to cost, and
the phone can only hold about 12 shots ...
it will give the real hassle blad experience for
inexperienced cellphone users...

Well I am not going to run out there and buy one. I do not care if it has the Hasselblad name on it.

  • Reason: bad idea, redundant
Will obviously allow hundreds of shots...or near-infinite number if sent to cloud. @ 12MP will look better than most film Hass shots, taken by the usual dentists-on-vacation etc. Good bet that every (every) Hass owner will buy one of these.

if that's their business model, they have it all wrong.
they need to market this stuff like it is 1987 all over again
perceived quality by insisting on multiple 12 exposure backs that cost
a king's ransom .. cloud-schlmoud ...

How does 1987 relate?
And think of all the digi Hass shooters who really did just want a phone

cause in 1987 a hassy cost a fortune
backs that now cost maybe 100$used to cost
like 900$ maybe used .. had to go into hassy
to be CLA'd every year cost a fortune. you figure
if hassy was venturing into the cellphone market they
would want to at least have it on an X1D platform ..
now hassy film stuff is so cheap almost anyone can venture into
1980s pro gear .. even if you are just a weekend warrior or
use the camera once every 4 weekends ... its like a crime NOT to buy one.
me? lenses are too clinical if they had a hassy with a degraded lens i'd think about it ... :whistling:

Most 1987 pros (me, for example), if they continue to shoot, do it digital. Obviously.

Incredible detail resolution from even the cheapest DSLRs, incredible fine inkjet prints waaay beyond anything available in 1987,

I am still using the phone (1st Gen) and just bought a 3rd Gen, Motorola Z is interesting modular concept. I don't have the Hasselblad Mod yet because the quality is so-so. But if the chinese smartphone manufacturers can put actual zoom lens into their thin smartphone then imagine what Hasselblad can do with the mod (if they really put effort). So far majority of manufacturers have no interest in telephoto optics, they just put wider angle and higher res sensor to feed the social media crazed consumers.
