I see what you mean. I looked at German version of the site, and they don't list different types of lenses at all, just ask you fill out the contact form. I wonder if they would work on my lens if I were in Germany? They do not even say so on their german pages, where you cannot specify more than "photo-lenses"...
But I found more quirks at their site.
Thanks, Brian! I'll let you know....I hope it works out for you!
I called them up to discuss before I sent my lens. It came back perfect and was even newly adjusted on their optical bench according to the attached report.I will try again to get into their site and contact them. Thank you very much!
Was this recently? Maybe they are rejecting 110/2 lenses from outside of Germany?I called them up to discuss before I sent my lens. It came back perfect and was even newly adjusted on their optical bench according to the attached report.
Haha, I wonder why you didn't buy it. Some of those prices on Ebay are so silly....The same lens was available in tiny quantities for the Rolleiflex SL66. I could use one, the perfect focal length for portraits. I saw one on ebay a few years ago for $18,000. I didn't buy it.
No,that was 10 years ago but again, Icalled them up first. I had bought a barain f/5.6 250mm lens on ebay and when it arrived it had a clear rattle sound inside as if sll the glass elements where lose. They fixed all of that, adjusted it on their optical bench and sent it back with a repair eort, all for $50; amazing customer service!. I did lived in Germany at the time.I see what you mean. They worked on Ralph Lambrecht's lens (poster above) who is in Germany. Ralph, was that recently?
Maybe they're trying to reduce amount of international shipping they have to deal with by limiting lenses coming in from US?
Or maybe just quirk, unintended inconsistency at web site, as you say.
I see. It was 10 years ago. Also sounds like it was not an F or FE lens. No,that was 10 years ago but again, Icalled them up first. Call them up first. If you have a German-speaking friend, have him or her do it! You cannot count on getting in touch with an English speaker. I spoke to an elderly very-friendly gentleman.
