You will see the difference when it is folded open, as I mentioned above

##leica is probably the only one one could call a "mass market manufacturer"

Mass market...

HASSELBLAD MASS MARKET small.jpg

Leica: from Instant to cheap Point-and-shoot ("Leica Mini"), many RFs, many SLR in partnership with Japan, all levels of digital cameras from entry level to pro, Screw-mount, M, R, SL, TL/CL, S, Q ,compacts, sport optics.many own retail outlets, widely available in 3rd party shops.

Compared to the other brands mentioned in the post above, that is mass market.

I have conducted a scientific research project this morning with all my knobs. It was great!

Result: each has a special feel to it, i play with all of them.

What is the overall experience with these metered knobs? It's 2024 - do they still generally respond correctly?

Mine is pretty much "dead on" when compared to my digital Luna Star F and within 1/3 stop of my Pentax digital spot meter. Of course, it can't read very low light conditions like my other two meters since it is less sensitive.

It's a shame that a company such as Gossen never launched a modern alternative, maybe even with a digital display.

When I do use Hasselblad I use the one that advances the film and cocks the shutter, all at the same time. I'm not sure if Mr. Victor was the first to have come up with this brilliant idea, but it does work, provided camera isn't jammed that is.

On manual bodies I prefer the crank. But I mostly use an EL body, so none of that hand cranking for me, except when loading film.

Yes, a nice LED readout visible when looking down at the waist level finder would have been a fantastic addition. Well, we can dream anyway.

just a reminder - the fold-out cranks can also be used as knobs (when not folded out).

Good point - is there a way to attach a winding crank to the EL models, in case of battery failure?

As Don_ih noted, the EL’s are bricks without power. Mine is a 553 ELX which uses AA’s so easy to find in a pinch.

Yes that is what I meant, I did not want to post it myself but leave some space for other to contribute and show their knowledge.
