Just bought a Hasselblad EL/M in Mint condition, complete with the original box, strap, and shutter release cord. The nice thing is it has already been converted to a 9 V battery. The viewfinder, a waist-level viewfinder, has the original focusing screen. I'm going to shop around for a Acute Matte screen. Everything is straightforward in operation, like a 500 C/M. The only electronics is the film winder. I loaded a roll of film, Kentmere 120, which is the cheapest film I have. Checked to make sure all the switches were correct, and pressed the front shutter release button. I heard the film advance, the shutter cocked, and was pleased with my purchase. This is in addition to my already owned 503 CW. The weight of the unit itself, without lens or film magazine, is about the same as my 503CW. I attached my 80 f2.8 and then the film magazine. Now that is noticeable weight, but I plan on using it mounted on a tripod. No walking around.

Oleson Brightscreen is making a shim system for their screens to fit the Hasselblad. I don't know how their screens compare to the regular or Acute Matte Hassy screens, but the price is certainly less. Maybe someone else here can comment on how the Brightscreen and assorted Hassy screens compare.

I have a lefthand grip for my motorized body, works great. Really need to mount this to a spacesuit and walk around 😁

Don't forget the diaper! Your camera needs some modifications too:

Is the 9V battery located inside or outside the body? My EL/M has a single battery adapter containing 12 button cells. It works perfectly.

The film advance on my 553 ELX is much faster than on the 500 EL/M.

The weight isn't important if you're using it on a tripod. The motorised Hasselblad is bulkier than the regular model. This makes it much heavier and more inconvenient to carry.
