The Hasselblad/Salut/Kievs use a grooved post to attach the strap. So does the Pentacon 6. Does anyone know if the post on the Pentacon 6 is the same as those on the Hasselblad/Salut/Kievs or are they different? I'm working on how to attach my straps to these cameras. I have a Salut-S I can play with. I want to accomodate the Pentacon 6 too.

I'm looking too

I did a search and turned up this thread that no-one answered.

I am looking for a way to attach a strap to the body strap mounts on a Pentacon Six tl. The mounts are studs that look like a large scissor strap should work. They are similar to the studs on my Rolleiflex, but about twice the size. The mounts are not pierced, so D rings cannot be attached.

The strap attachments on the half case are not very strong, and I don't trust them with a larger than standard lens. With a 250mm tele the damn thing weighs a ton.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Rick.

For what it is worth, the Hassy, both Kievs, and Yashicamat all use the same size, which I suspect is the same as the Rollei.

It's the same as on the Rollei 6000 series (note that on the Pentacon six you will need to modify the Rollei strap so that it will not trigger the shutter when you are carrying it around, its an easy job; heat up a knife and melt down one of the corners of the plastic lock). The Rollei strap is a good choice by the way, a colleague of mine got the original Pentacon strap but has so far been unable to attach it to the camera, the fitt is so tight...
