Have you used the 70 back before?
Hi Darr,

Thanks for the response.

No, I've never used the back before. I know it has a metal canister that you need to load the film into. So I have a question - how much film of the 100ft roll goes into the cannister? That is, how many 'cannisters' can you get out of the 100ft roll? Also, how many frames can I get on a cannister full of film?

I assume the cannisters are not 'single use' and that I can reload them after I'm done. Also, what kind of spool do I need on the other end?

The film I am talking about has the sprocket holes on both sides like 35mm film.

Thanks, Art.

The cans take 15'. Can be reused. I'm not sure if you can still get new empty cans or not. Lately used ones have gone for big money on Ebay. OTOH I got a loader for $1. So I'm not really sure what's up.

How will you process?

You need two cans. At least One at each end of the back. More will let you load extra cans. Then it's like 120 in the sense you take the empty one and move it to the take up side. Put a new full one in the feed side.

Yes the film will work with the Hasselblad back. Loading can be done with a loader (tough to find, but patience turns on up), or in a film-changing bag by hand (insert a pencil with eraser into one spool to make turning easier). The cannisters should come with a spool and a small metal clip that wraps 2/3 of the way around the spool. The clip holds the film to the spool. If there's no clip just use a piece of thin tape. Hasselblad cannisters are pricey on eBay, but the Kodak ones seem to fetch around $15 +/-. Do a short test shoot first to make sure the felt light trap on the cannister is in good shape.

Now if I can just figure out how to use my Hassie 70mm back I'd be thrilled. Does anyone know of an online manual for these things? I have two (from different sources) and they both seem to just keep winding on without starting the counter.
