I just picked up a 503CW kit with a 50, 80 and 150mm lenses, power winder, 2 A16 backs and 2 A12 backs, 90 degree prism, waist level, chimney hood, 2 acute matte screens, pro shade, Metz CL-3, 2X converter and a few other items. Is the power winder a useful attachment or does it eat batteries? It seems to fit in the hand nicely with the prism attached. It also came with the hand grip that has the cable release but the screw does not line up with the bottom plate and the one I use with my 500 C/M without the cable release also does not line up. Also are the A16 backs in demand and should I keep one of them or is it defeating the purpose of 2 1/4 ? I don't need everything so what should I keep from this kit and what should I sell to offset some of the cost. I also have a 500 C/M kit

Nice assortment of equipment. All useful. Why get rid of anything? The handle won’t work on the 503 but it will on the 500. Almost everything else works on both.

I’m not sure that the A16 is highly desirable or not. Whether it “defeats the purpose “ or not is subjective. I don’t think so but will you be using them or not?

Shooting the A16s can be nice sometimes. I used to shoot with one on my SWC. The rectangular format completely changes the vibe of the camera.

If you need the money, there's a lot you can sell to bring it to a "minimal" kit (1 back, 1 lens). If you don't need the money, I suggest to keep at least part of it.
- First, the backs: one can not have enough backs in my opinion. The supply is limited and the demand increasing. Keep at least your backs.
- Prism: not sure how practical the 90 prism is (never had one) - maybe you can sell it and replace by a 45 degree prism if you want one but don't like the 90. In my case, I found a complete kit similar to yours with a PM45 and a winder. At first I used neither, then (years later) hitting the mit-forties I realized that my eyes liked the comfort of the prism magnification. It is now permanently attached to my Hasselblad and has since been replaced by a PME45 for the meter. (still have the PM45 which I could now sell, pm me if interested)
- Winder: never used it all those years until, very recently, I started to do "studio" shots at home. I found the winder very convenient, particularly when the Hassy is loaded with prism and flash trigger on the hot shoe. I find it definitely too big to carry anywhere out of the house but I'm glad I did not sell it back then. I'm still on the 1st set of batteries after 15-20 rolls.

My goal is to sell my 500 C/M with an 80mm C*T*, 150mm, 1 back, flash handle mount. I also have a waist level, PME and a 90 degree non metered prism. The PME needs a diopter for my eyes so it's difficult to focus which is why I bought the 90 due to the adjustable dipoter, but I don't think I like the 90 degree and would prefer the 45. All the backs from the new kit are in great condition and all have matching numbers. A12 and A16 in chrome and A12 and A16 in black.
I think at the price I paid for the kit it will allow me to sell my kit and everything I don't need from the new kit and end up with a newer kit with the addition of a 50mm for a very small amount of additional cash.

You have a great setup, but now you need to expand your horizons with the 250mm lens, the 903 SWC, and the 30mm Fisheye lens.

That sounds like a great plan.

The winder has a less than stellar reputation and is difficult to fix. I would let that go.
