Please place me in the hater column. I never cared for them when I was younger. When I inherited the C330 mit lenses, I had them CLA'ed and shot a number of rolls of film. The fiddle factor was too high for me and I turned it into a Hasselblad.

Pentax 645Nii and Hasselblad 501cm

Willie Jan I work with both the 501cm and the Pentax 645Nii. I use them for my portraiture work but what/who I'm photographing will determine which gear I choose. These lenses and final print IMO are very different. I'll attach a couple of images to show as an example for you.
Boys on the jetty = 501cm
Colander Boy = Pentax 645Nii

So i am not the only person using pentax along with hassel....
I have to find out what the difference is. next weekend planned to shoot some portraits of 8 years old boy and girl from a friend....

what i see in you images is that the pentax shot is more flat, but i do not know if you did some photoshop editing with the boys (sky darkened) so that the atmosphere is quite different.

The Hasselblad system can be a deal at this time. Professional photographers seem to be selling them off, since they've switched to digital. I purchased my 501CM and some lenses from a fellow doing just that. The price was very reasonable. (How could you sell something like this off?)

The camera is definitely nice. Simple mechanically, and when you get to know it, simple to use. I have had the camera for 1 1/2 years now and see the thing as a remarkable tool. It may not make you a better photographer, but I can't see it standing in your way. (at least until the shutter jams)

The prices seem to be still going down right now, at least what I've seen on the auctions so don't buy it for an investment. The prices, when these cameras were new, made it a little hard for me to justify the purchase, but now... Oh! Glory be!!!!
