Hasselblad 500c and Pistol grip

I just got a pistol style grip for my Hasselblad and I’m absolutely sure that it is meant for the V system and specifically 500c as well— only when I mount it to the bottom and secure the bolt the trigger’s contact is several milimeters inward from and above the shutter release. Just to be clear, the product number is 45057 and it’s the grip that positions one’s hand under the body, not off to the side with a flat bracket that fixes to the tripod mount. Maybe I’m doing it wrong??

Does your camera have a modified bottom plate possibly?
There are a few different ones from Hasselblad, but I've always assumed the 3/8" socket is positioned the same. Any evidence of mods to the grip?
Can you post some pics of what you have?

Are you sure it is 45057, or is that just what the seller said? Some sellers are not aware of the two types made:
The pistol grip for the motor bodies looks superficially the same but the release trigger has a different shape, there is no code number on the part. It is 46221 and is much less common and commands a higher price. They are not compatible with the "wrong" body.
Try to Google both numbers and compare images with which you have, I suspect you have the motor body version.

Thanks for those links, turns out the seller misrepresented the item and gave me a return label and refund. I then ordered the correct grip (45047) and it works like a charm! Very helpful when getting pan shots

I got asked if I my rig was a gun one time, when I was working with my 500C with that grip. But it does make for a nice set-up.

Thanks for those links, turns out the seller misrepresented the item and gave me a return label and refund. I then ordered the correct grip (45047) and it works like a charm! Very helpful when getting pan shots

If you place the camera body in your left hand, focus and adjust with your right hand. You can use your left index finger to trigger the shutter. That is what I have been doing. I have a pistol grip that I could use, but I have never even tried it on the camera. [I was given it.]

That's good news, thank you for the follow up. One of Hasselblad's failings is the lack of identifying numbers on the accessory range, in particular the screens, causes no end of confusion.

I was asked if I was shooting Super-8 when I had that grip in my 500c/m. When I told it was a still camera, the guy looked unamused and just walked away.
