Just to add a positive word re Japanese sellers on eBay - I bought my 503cx from one seller, 50mm lens from another and A12 back from a third. I'm very happy so far with them all. The advice I got was read the descriptions carefully and only buy from 100% positive sellers. That magic number is so important to their businesses, they're not going to risk it selling you a pup. Only downside is you have to pay customs charges and they won't understate the value of what they're shipping. I'd definitely do it again though...
Japanese baby their cameras, therefore what you buy in Japan is generally in very good condition. From my various trips to Tokyo and visiting camera stores there, I have found Hasselblad and Leica prices higher than in Europe while absolute bargains could be found on Canikons and other Japanese cameras.

I bought my Pentax 6x7 MLU + 105mm from Japan. Later I bought the 55mm f4 and the 135mm f4 macro from Japan also. Each transaction was very smooth, and the items in exceptionally good condition.

I purchased a Fuji 180mm lens for 4x5 from a Japanese Seller. I can't remember if it was on here or on Large Format Photography Forum (maybe both) where it was discussed how happy people in the U.S. were with Japanese eBay Sellers.

I am so lucky I bought my Hasselblad 500 CM for just $115 back in 2007. I saw what was going on with digital and had an idea that film cameras would eventually make a comeback. I bought tons of excellent gear for this price and similar. To include Leica, Rollei, Mamiya, Nikon, Fuji and others. I never paid over $275 for a camera body. Lenses were different though. High quality professional lenses still have a somewhat hefty price tag. I just she died out the prices going for the 500 CM now. Wow!!

I too started buying my Hasselblad equipment [and some other cameras] about that time and now have the 503 CX and 903 SWC as well as the PME, SWC adapter back for view finders, and a large assortment of lenses. At the time I kept posting on the then APUG that it was the time to buy film cameras and lenses.

I am noticing pricing for medium format has come down some. It maybe time for me to unload my shelf queens.
