What about the use of a 93mm to 95mm step up ring?
There is a lot more of the latter in terms of filter selection...

I did exactly that, bought a 93 to 95mm step up ring, hoping to be able to attach 95mm filters and lens shades (sun shades) to a 40mm CF lens.

My 40mm CF lens came with a 93mm filter receiving ring, and another ring on top to hold a Hasselblad 93mm filter without threads or bayonet mount. The second ring has marking on its face...”Hasselblad, made in Germany, etc”.

Since the lens did not come with a UV filter, I decided to purchase a Hasselblad 93mm UV filter from a top rated eBay seller, in Germany. It arrived, as promised, in perfect condition.

I had assumed that I could attach the 93-95 step up ring to the last ring on the lens, with the 93mm UV filter in place, and in that way attach other filters and any generic 95mm lens shade!

To my dismay, I was wrong. I could not attach the 93-95mm step up ring to the top filter holding ring because that ring cannot accept any screw-in or bayonet mounted attachments. Before buying the Hasselblad 93mm UV filter, I did not realize that!

So I thought, what if I unscrew the top Hasselblad holding ring and used the 93-95mm
step up ring instead to, I) hold the 93mm Hasselblad UV filter, and 2) to allow 95mm attachments to the lens. That didn’t work.

With the 93mm Hasselblad UV filter in place, the step up ring could not screw onto the Hasselblad filter holding ring. But when I removed the UV filter, the step up ring screwed in perfectly!

Next, I pulled out a top quality 95mm UV filter and screwed it into the top of the 93-95 step up ring.

Then I screwed in a 95mm ND filter.

Next, I screwed on a Rubber lens hood, (rubber because it allows itself to be pulled back for wide angle lenses).

Since all the filters and the lens hood are 95mm instead of 93mm there should not be any vignetting issues…but I’m not sure of that since I did not test it.

The lens thus equipped looked huge and impressive...perfect for a motion picture camera!

Did I make a mistake buying the 93mm Hasselblad UV filter!
