Has anyone ever used FujiFilm Korectol E?

I live in Japan now for the next three years and after two months of searching (can't get photographic supplies shipped here from the states) I have finally found a place that sells photographic supplies. It is about a 40 min train ride into Hiroshima.

Anyway I picked up my usual Kodak supplies (it is strange to see it all in Japanese) and I saw a packet of Fujifilm Korectol E. It is a print developer and I have never used it. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with it and could give me some pointers on dilutions that might work better than what is on the packet.

Hi! Yes, I've used Korektol-E. I just mixed it per the instructions on the bag I've read about diluting it, but I don't know what that would do, though I'm willing to try it.

I've had pretty good luck with it. It seems to be like most Fujifilm chemicals: easy to use and forgiving (even for idiots like myself.)

Depending on where you live, you could probably order from Bic Camera or Yodobashi Camera- they are the two biggest (I think) suppliers of photographic equipment and supplies in Japan. Although I've had no experience with them, this place stocks unusual film (and as far as I know, the only place in Japan that sells Rodinal.)

Yes, Bic Camera in Hiroshima is where I got the stuff from. They had all kinds of stuff and they had a great film selection. It was strange to see 8x10 sheet film just sitting there in the freezer next to 35mm. Anyway I knew about the place but I don't understand Japanese to order off the website.

I didn't see any Rodinal there, but I wasn't able to spend the amount of time in there that I wanted to on this trip. We just happened to pass it on the way back to the train (I had my family with me) and after forcing my family to walk about 6 miles that day all over Hiroshima my wife was not too receptive for me having a photographic side adventure if you know what I mean. I am going to go back alone this weekend to check out everything else.

Did you try google translate? Often it allows a website to be followed, even if not fully understood. Load http://translate.google.com/ and paste the web site address in the translate box. Just tried it with the site (http://www.graltd.com/index.htm), and it shows 500ml of Rodinal with Price: 2,280 yen (tax included shipping). The limit of the translation applied when it is called "Russia s Nar developer files accession" (probably the name was transliterated to sound right in Japanese.
