Hi all

Ilford kindly loaned us a Harman Titan pinhole camera over at filmwasters ... I thought our video review might be of some interest to you all.

Leon

Just make some photos and upload please!

I did - they are in the review ...

and Dead Link Removed

Leon thank you for the link to the images.
What a nice surprise as I find the images amazingly sharp and very nicely exposed, job well done.
What is the focal length and pinhole size if you have that info at your fingertips? KR.

this cone is 70mm, although there are plans to make cones at around 150mm and 110mm. All the details can be found on the Ilford website.

Loved the video, especially the early Traffic tune.

These photos look almost like too good coming from a lensless camera. The Harman Titan is definitely on my shopping list.

Those photos are definitely sharper than any pins I've seen or taken. Was there much or any post on them ? This kit would make a nice present for a deserving photographer in about a month

The example photographs look very good indeed, assuming minimum/no sharpening was applied to scans of negs?
AND, we'd like to see this camera soon in Australia, but no word yet on who will have it, when or where. I'm getting impatient! I want to add it to my expanding brood of cameras.

My ancient laptop doesn't like Vimeo (always plays jerky) so I could only see the flickr pics. I really liked the photo with the curved shadow of a ladder, then I poked around a bit and found Leon's mushroom photos which are great!

re sharpening - i just applied my usual minimal USM to cope with the scanners inherent softness - same as I do to all scans, so they have not been deceptively sharpened.

@Lensman_nh - I should try all the usual ILFORD dealers. I'm not sure on the availability at the moment. I think the first production run of 1000 sold out from ILFORD's warehouse in under a week, but some of those did go on to re-sellers. The UK got an earlier release date than the US too.

thanks! You can download the video from here or via iTunes.

Thanks for the review, enjoyed it. Any chance of some close up crops to see how sharp the images are?

@karkwai - Dead Link Removed to a high res file that you can enlarge ... hope that helps

Cool vid... I hate pinholes... too random for me! Or perhaps it was because all the High School photo-profs are obsessed with pin-holes.
Cheers though.
