Hi Howard,

All accessories have been available for some time.

post some images when you can!

a couple of cyanotypes from negatives, which I have made using the 8x10 Titan. Film was FP4+, exposures in the 30-45s range.

Especially like the first one, Fred!

Not using mine right now. Will get back to it when my cast comes off in September.

thanks, I also like it myself, I thought it was a need trick, in that there is no trace if the tripod and camera itself in the picture, though its a glass and steel building façade.

Hi FredW,

Nice work with the 8x10 camera, I just wanted to say something about your cyanotype negatives: I think your negatives are a little thin for cyanotype, because the contrast is somehow lower than what you should normally get. What film / developer / development time combination was that? Cyanotype usually needs something like 1.5-2x the development time compared standard silver gelatin...

Regards,
Loris.

Thanks Loris, yes they are probably a little thin for cyanotypes, I generally do platinum/palladium prints, and the negatives should be fine.

The film was Ilford FP4+, tray processed in Pyrocat HD 2:2:100 dilution for 14 minutes @20C. I would probably go with 16 minutes, next time I am thinking of cyanotypes, or salt prints, but they then get a little thick for palladium.

Hi Fred, wow, cyanotype needing thicker negatives than palladium is definitely a novelty to me. My usual cyanotype exposure scale is log 1.6 - 2.2 (depending on formulation, paper and environment) and pd needs log 2.4 - 2.9 (again depending on formulation, paper and environment - but that's for pop pd, not develop out pd...) Do you use any type of contrast agent for your pd prints?

Anyway, steering back to the original topic: I'd like to have one of those 8x10" cameras, but 8x10" film can't be found here in Istanbul, and even if I could find it, it would be prohibitively expensive. I'm happy with my Zero 4x5, best compromise between practicality and quality...

Regards,
Loris.

I have always used develop out process, and I am using the original dichromate for contrast control, usually aiming for a grade 1 contrast with my negatives. Though I have recently started using the Na2 contrast control agent.

Yes I am fortunate that a camera shop in town which usually has 8x10 film in stock. and yes it is pricey, but given my throughput, is manageable.

Well, It depend upon the quality. Which one use of Pinhole Camera. So, Check out carefully.
